Bold 9000 on Optus BES $59.95 plan
Okay I am new here but need a few questions answered that no one at Optus appears able to help me with.
Work purchased this phone for me a few weeks ago and left it to me to organise a plan. We have no Blackberry enterprise server set up at work as this is the only BB handset we have. I signed up for the $59.95 unlimited plan for a month by month to see how it went. I set up the email settings for work and it all works fine (we have an exchange server). I also set up a personal gmail account and that works fine also.
What is the main concern is that a work colleague recently took over a departing colleague's i-Phone and proceeded to use the phone with his existing sim card and no data bolt on. Our company recently received a bill for $1,800 data usage for his number!
The questions I have are:
1) Does the unlimited emails on the plan that I am using include all attachments if I choose to download them.
2) I know I can only use the internet browser or browser - which tries to switch to the WAP for streaming media, I have disabled this. Why does this happen?
3) I have installed google maps but am hesitant to use it as I have no way of knowing how it obtains its data. Is it WAP or BB browser?
4) As we do not have the Enterprise server installed is there any way of having Optus route all data through the BB browser?
If any one has any suggetions or can answer my questions it would be much appreciated as I do not want to receive an exhorbitant bill like my colleague.
By the way, I have wifi at home and work so when I download any applications it is using the wifi connection.
Kind regards
Malcolm
