BB Desktop vs. Wireless Sync Stupid Newbie Question: Please Help

Hello!

I have BB 8703e from work, it uses BES and we use Lotus R5 (in the midst of a multimillion migrate to Outlook). My BB Calendar syncs wirelessly to work, along with email.

What I want to do is sync the calendar portion, and only the calendar, to my desktop running winxp and outlook 2003. (My work with kids activities/social etc that my wife enters in on our desktop)

I had an older version of BB Desktop manager that seemed to do this (only tried two or three times), but recently upgraded to 4.3. (was using an Ipaq to shuttle data between the two (don't get me started on mnotes!))((Ipaqs being phased out in favor of BB))

I had learned to go into my BB Calender/options/wireless sync - change to off, sync via BDM, then change wireless sync back to "yes".

After upgrading to BDM 4.3, I choose the "BES/Redirector" option on install, BDM goes through something about creating a configuration key, and I go into the settings and choose only calendar to sync.

then I turn off wireless sync in calendar on the device and sync.

The problem is that after disconnecting the device, the "wireless sync" option dissapears! I try a soft reset and still not there.

I have to call my IT people and have them send out a new service book for the calendar, and the wireless sysnc option reappears, but I lose the changes that I made. I have tried several uninstall/installs of BDM, and tried different settings, but I still lose the wireless sync option on the device.

My IT guys are going to get very annoyed if I have to reset the service book after every sync.

Any advice how to do this painlessly? What setting's do I use after doing a clean unistall of BB Desktop Manager? BES or BIS? Any idiots guides out there?

Thanks in advance!!
