I have replicated your configuration and can confirm emails sent from the Blackberry are not downloaded to Outlook. I can now confirm that this function won't work due to the way the gmail operates which is outlined below:

"Gmail webmail service stores all email messages in one central source. Email messages are sorted using a Hidden and Visible Labelling system. The labels for the links on the left side of the Gmail webmail service graphic user interface, such as the Inbox, Drafts, and Sent Mail, use hidden labels on each of the email messages. This allows the email messages to be viewed as though they are in separate folders.

The BlackBerry Internet Service retrieves email messages from the Gmail Post Office Protocol 3(POP3) server. POP3, by design, does not support the proprietary labelling system. As such, any email message that arrives in the Inbox of the Gmail POP3 server (including sent email messages) appears as a new email message and is redirected to the BlackBerry smartphone."

In your situation the emails being sent from the device and being delivered to the Gmail sent folder but they aren't in a format allow POP to detect it as a new item.
