Error 1904 appears while installing the BlackBerry Desktop Software

Problem
While installing the BlackBerry Desktop Software, the following error appears:
Note: Other files may fail to register along with the
oasisapi.dll file. The message displays the file that failed first.
Cause
Specific modules or
.dll files associated with BlackBerry Desktop Software failed to register with Microsoft Windows.
Resolution
Resolution Summary
Perform the following procedures until the problem is resolved:
- Log in to the computer as the administrator and then re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Repair the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Register the atl.dll file and re-install the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Create a new administrative account and re-install the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Install the latest Windows Service Pack and the latest BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Re-install or update the Windows installer.
Resolution 1
Log in to the computer as the administrator and then re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Resolution 2
Repair the BlackBerry Desktop Software by completing the following steps:
- Open the Control Panel on your computer and double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- From the list of installed programs, click BlackBerry Desktop Software, then click Change/Remove.
- In the InstallShield Wizard window, select the Repair option and click Next. The BlackBerry Desktop Software installation begins.
- Click Finish.

Register the
atl.dll file and re-install the BlackBerry Desktop Software. For instructions on how to register the

Resolution 4
Create a new administrative account and re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software. To create a new administrative account on the computer, complete the following steps:
- Create a separate account on the computer with full administrative rights.
- Log out of the current user account and log back in using the account created in step 1.
- Install the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Resolution 5
Install the latest Microsoft Windows Service Packs and re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Go to http://update.microsoft.com and verify that your computer is running the latest Windows Service Pack for your operating system.
- Log in to the computer as the administrator and re-install BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Resolution 6
Re-install or update the Windows installer to version 3.1 (version 2). The software can be downloaded from
www.microsoft.com under the link

Workaround 1
If there is another profile available on the same computer, log in using this alternate profile and install BlackBerry Desktop Software for all users. This is a workaround that may assist if there are issues with the primary user profile.
