    *.ipd File Reader

Is there a freeware program that can read *.ipd (BlackBerry backup data) files?

    Similar to this...

    Hi,

I haven't seen any other products that can perform the tasks as ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter. The only other option is a free utility from ABC Amber which allows manage contact information in IPD files.

Free download ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor, edit contacts in IPD files

    Thanks,

    Gary

Glad I found this thread, I've been reading through the ipd file discussion at http://dotwhat.net/ipd/853/ and there are a few options but it seems you're better off paying for abc - you could try using the blackberry simulator?

It appears that the link on their website is broken. I recommend that you send them an email.

    BlackBerry IPD reader

You can also read IPD files using the BlackBerry Backup Extractor from blackberryconverter.com. The free edition is limited but will extract some of all types of your data: email, contacts, calendar, texts, call history, etc.

The only software that could open my IPD files was phoneMiner - everything else just crashed

    IPD File Reader

Cheers for the thread and links the apps listed all seemed to work when I tested. I went for the blackberry backup extractor because I wanted to retrieve some memos, the others just seemed to extract the basics (all limited as well... contacts, email, sms and calendars). The BBBE app did this but also seems to dump out a lot of other data and config files that the others didn't, I'm going to explore as I'm sure I saw some .COD files(?) in there too. All the apps are restricted in some way btw, I can only recommend the BBBE as it suited me and what I needed, but it did seem give access to do the most stuff, whether in free mode or not.
