New to blackberry and need help

I am new to blackberry have 7100g (previously a Palm PDA and a Nokia mobile phone) and I am having issues

Here they are

I am running vista and I can not get the desktop software and the berry to recognise each other via the USB cable, every time I connect the two and open the desk top software it turns the blackberry off (I tried this on my old comp running xp and they talked rather happily) I made the mistake orf connecting the blackberry to the comp before installing the software because I couldn't find the charger at the time and I wanted to get charge into it. (Think I will need to system restore to sort it out)

The second one is Bluetooth the phone was picking up the comp (until I made the mistake of deleting it off the berry now it can't find my comp) and my comp plain never found the berry even though I have Bluetooth enabled on the comp and had it enabled on the phone

and I can not get onto what we call wap, I am not even sure how to set it up with a blackberry I really need help preferably someone in Perth Western Australia who can sit down with me and make it work show me what to do

Oh and finally this is just me but my Nokia and palm let me set a reminder with a tone is there a way to do that with the berry

Fyi

system restore DID NOT work i did it and tried to delete the remaning files off my comp and low and behold even though i am set as admin for my comp i was denied permission to to delete some of the folders.

so i continued on and installed the softwear the same was i did on my old xp laptop and copnnected my berry and again it turned off as soon as it was connected with the program open.

i am at a complete loss as to what to do next and am regretting buying the blackberry and think i should have got the palm treo insted of getting what i can afford right now

Hi,

First we need to perform a clean uninstall of Blackberry Desktop Manager by following this guide:

http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/f...-software.html

Once uninstalled you need to download and install the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager using this link:

BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.3

Then once Desktop manager is running you can follow this guide to configure your Bluetooth.

Set up Bluetooth connectivity with BlackBerry Desktop Manager

It is very common to have Bluetooth issues on a PC especially when you are running other Bluetooth devices. I have seen on a number of occasions items like Logitech keyboards that "can" load different Bluetooth drivers cause a similar problem.

With regards to setting up WAP this process is normally done automatically when you have a BlackBerry plan added to your phone account. Once the plan is activated the device downloads service books from your provider that configures your device browser with the correct settings. Do you have a Blackberry plan?
