blue tooth help

ok i have the comp abd the phone talking ia usb now but every time i try via bluetooth i get nothing. the phone tells me it see's my pc my pc tells me it see's my phone yet when i try to transfer a file from my pc to my phone via blue tooth i get nothing.

the light on the phone flashes blue once and then nothign and the pc tells me it failed to send the file because the reciving bluetooth device failed to respond.

can anyone help with this even if it involves opening a msn chat or somethign and walking me through it at a pre arranged time, i really want to get some decent pics and some other files on my comp that i can't do via the destop softwear because it won't let me load that file or connect to roxio

Below is an article the covers configuring your Blackberry and desktop to connect via Bluetooth. Can you please review the article and ensure the correct steps have been followed? Once you have done this and you are still having issues we can assist you further.

Set up Bluetooth connectivity with BlackBerry Desktop Manager

hmmm

I did what that artical said and came to a scream halt at step 6

My device softwear is 4.0.2, i am running vista with destopsoftwear 4.3 and it's bluetooth enabled right out of the box, never had an issue connecting my nokia 6288

anyways back tot he point i get to task six try to configure the dsktop software through properties and it can not find the phone no matter how many times i try and search for it.

I really do think the bluetooth on this phone is bunky

p.s

i just noticed if i repeatedly hit search the led starts flashing blue, only time it does and and the little bluetooth symbol on my phone gets a pair of trianglar arrows that point away from eachother,

i want this to work so i can send certain files to my phone from my laptop that the desktop softwear won;t let me send like a couple excel documents

What service provider did you get your device from? If you let me know I will post a link for the 4.1 update. Hopefully this will resolve your issue but I would recommend looking at getting a newer device that has 4.2 firmware e.g. BlackBerry Pearl

Was the device from Australia? Also is there a provider logo display when you turn the device on?

What we can do is download the Optus 7100 firmware to your PC using this LINK. Once downloaded you need to install the file on the same machine as BlackBerry Desktop Manager is installed on. Then rename the vendor.xml file to vendor.bak (located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader) and connect the device to your PC. When you open BlackBerry desktop manager you will be prompted with an option to upgrade the firmware.

the vendor has offered to take it back and repair it but i don't really see the point for whats most likely softwear being a cow.

i will try ur suggestion and see what happens, thank you for your help so far
