Smile Echo on Bluetooth Hands Free

Hi
I have recently started using a Blackberry and have a bluetooth hands free kit fitted to my car.
It was working fine with my nokia phone and I have had no problems pairing the blackberry with the hands free however the receiver of any call I make has a terrible echo on their phone. Even if the other party calls me in the car they get a terrible echo.
Can anyone advise whether they have had a similar problem and if so how to fix it.
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Try, 'Set Up Bluetooth'>scroll to the BT hands free kit you have paired>press applications key (LHS of trackball)>select 'Device properties'>scroll to 'Echo Control' and click trackball>change option to 'ON'>save settings then exit.
Hope this helps and if you still have any issues just post back here.
Kind Regards,
Greg Myers.

Hi Gregmyers,
I have tried all of these settings however with no luck.
Doesn't seem to make any difference whether it is off, On or in Auto.
Do you have any other ideas.
Thanks
TWM

If your car kit is a Nokia unit this is a common problem and in many cases can't be resolved. The best kit for BlackBerry devices are the Motorola or the Blueant portable hands free units.

One thing I have found is you turn the handset's volume down, and that has worked a treat for me.

My 2 cents...
