Hi All,

New to the Forum and new to BB, what applications do I need installed on my handheld to be able to use Excel and word documents.

Hi Dave and welcome,
There are quite a few free and purchase applications available for this purpose. (Just be careful when Googling then as most claim free but end up as a trial). EOffice is probably one of the better ones. You can trial if from here; Business & Finance - Word Processing BlackBerry Software | BerryReview Software Store
The not-to-distant future OS allows you to read MS Word and Excel docs so you might just want to wait a little while for it to become a native application.

Thanks very much for the link and the info and your speedy reply it is appreciated, do you have any idea when the new OS would be coming out so I can figure out if it is worth buying or waiting.. I use the BB for work as I am in and out of the country and away from my PC for long periods of times and sometimes need to reply quickly.

It should be in the next couple of months (sorry I can't be more specific). I know it's probably not the right thing to do but you could use the trial versions until the new OS is officially released.
