Media Player and Audio Tags

firstly AHHHHHHH....

I love my BB but on the verge of selling it... first i cant use GPS anymore because i changed jobs and now have to pay for my own calls and BB plans cost wayyy too much.. telstra want $49 for BB use and $39 for phone use.. anyway i can live without as I have one in my car..

my main problem is...

I used to be able to see my music under artists/albums etc.. but since formatting the card all my music is under unknown albums/artists so its all in the same place and I have like 20 track 1's, 20 track 2's and so on... i can still however see them seperated by folders in explorer... but if the explorer closes the music stops..

i have checked and checked and re-applied media tags using Roxio and still no go..

anyone got any suggestions?? could it be the sd card itself??

BTW, updated to BB Firware 4.5.0.52 and Desktop manager 4.5... great so far.. thanks for putting up the links BB Forums..

Hi,

As a BlackBerry device reads the metadata (i.e. track name, artist, album, and genre) from your audio files your issue would be caused by one of the following:

1. The audio files no longer contain the relevant metadata. This could be caused when copy the tracks to and\or from the device.
2. There may be an issue with the media player on your beta version of 4.5 preventing it from reading the metadata.
3. If you use BlackBerry Media Manager it may have had a "Stream Loss error " which removes the tracks metadata. This can be corrected by go to "Media Manager > Click Tools > Stop Watching Folders"

Thanks,

Gary

Thanks Gary for the hint...

I did finally manage to get it working last night, for anyone interested:

- Sync the BB to Windows Media Player
- Go to the Sync'd files > right click and Find Album info > follow wizard

So all happy again now and wont sell my BB..
