Help With Registering Blackberry On The Optus Blackberry Email Site

Hi Everyone,

I took my new blackberry (8310 curve) home today and completed the setup wizard on the startup, including entering my email address that I wish to use on the phone. However now when I go to the site: BlackBerry Internet Service and attempt to register it says that my PIN is already registered, I then also requested my password to be sent to me in case I could log in that way and I received a message telling me that I do not have a username and password? I am unsure of why my pin has already been registered when I have not entered any information to register my new phone.

Any help would be appreciated or if there was a phone number I could call that would be great too.

Thanks in advance

Firstly,welcome to the Forum....

Secondly, I know you mentioned "new Blackberry 8310" but is it brand new,or just new to you? This could help out....

Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation.... from a landline ring Optus and ask to speak to their Blackberry helpline and don't take no for an answer... they should be able to sort this out (you need to ring from a landline so they can instruct you to do things to the Blackberry whilst you are talking to them... including soft resets etc)

Hope this helps

Hi,

When you create a BIS account from your device it doesn't create a logon account for the standard BIS website. Contact Optus as Tfer mention and tell them that you started the setup process on the device but you need a logon account for the website to finish the setup.

Thanks,

Gary
