    Hi,

The first step would be to check for as firmware update. Just connect your device to a PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager and it should prompt if an update is available. Post back if you are not prompted for an update.

    Thanks,

    Gary

As you know now, your device is not yet updated. Once it is, you will see a number of changes. Performance of your device will improve significantly. Your messages and photo will load up fast and you will be able to use a hell lot of applications which you previously haven't been able to . Most importantly, new versions of whatsapp and BBM.

    Hi,

Is your device still switching\locking on a full white screen? I have recently seen this on a few other devices and it ended up being a faulty\damaged display.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Hi, thanks in advance for your help, my problem is that i loaded the latest update on an 8520 succesfully using the loader after deleting the vendor.xml but when i got to the next phone (another 8520) it shows that after connecting to the JVM blackberry desktop doesnt have the device blackberry software for the device connected to the pc but the phone is in the same condition as the one before (has OS 5.0 but the client wants it in Spanish) I downloaded the correct version and worked fine the first phone but not the second and i used desktop manager to update both of them and then the apploader to update in the new language (didnt know about the apploader at the time of update). Any ideas. Thanks.

    Hi,

Some firmware is set to detect the presence of a Blackberry enabled SIM card. If no SIM (or a none BB SIM) is inserted it won't find the update. To get around this issue take a backup of the device > disconnect the BB and remove the battery > reconnect the device to the PC with the battery removed > Once Desktop Manager shows a connection error select Update on this menu > Once the firmware update starts keep an eye on it as you have to reinsert the battery when it says "waiting for device to initialize". After the update select Applications in desktop Manager and add all the required apps.

    Thanks,

    Gary
