Blackberry Magnet

Hi i just saw a story about people having problems with the magnet, they said the magnet inside the blackberry 8700 was strong enough to eraise data from credit cards if they got in touch or in the same pocket, is any of this true? or do any of u know/heard more about this??

ofcourse i mean the blackberry when the deviced is closed.

I have never heard of this before and I have on numerious occassions had my old 8700 and bank cards together. I would consider that rumour as untrue.
