Problem


The BlackBerry 8700 smartphone resets after receiving the following error:

Device Error code 1423

Cause

Corrupted data on the BlackBerry smartphone causes this issue.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, delete the data from the BlackBerry smartphone. See KB02318 for more information.

Workaround

Perform a hard reset of the BlackBerry smartphone by removing and replacing the battery. For instructions, see KB02141.
