BB 8707 G start up problem

Hi,

I am using BB 8707 G. yesterday, I couldnt recieve emails and a friend of mine told me to switch it off, pulled off the SIM Card, and then insert it again. I did that 3 times. When I switched it on, the start up process takes forever. It has been 15 hours now, but the screen keep displaying the hourglass icon.

If the repeated restarts haven't allowed your Blackberry start-up correctly you may have some corruption in your devices firmware. When your firmware is corrupted you will have to download the latest firmware from your provider’s website and reload it using desktop manager. Once downloaded and installed you will need to reload the firmware using "Application Loader" in Desktop manager. If you need a step by step guide on how to do these steps please post back.

1. Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager onto your computer.
2. Download the latest 8707g firmware by clicking HERE.
3. Run the Firmware Installer that you downloaded on your computer.
4. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
5. Connect your BlackBerry device via USB
6. From BlackBerry Manager select "Application Loader"
7. Once App Loader opens it should detect your device, if this fails restart your BlackBerry whilst it is still connected via USB and retry.
8. Once App Loader detects your device it will display a list of upgradable or changeable items which you can customize. For now leave these options as default.
9. Continue the wizard and your device will be updated and will eventually reboot. This reboot can take up to 10 minutes.

Question

Hi Gary,
I have a 8700G, which todate has been trouble free. This morning it was "FROZEN", and I tried also taking battery out, and Sim card out several times. Now I cant even turn it on, and the NOTIFICATION LED (red light) is on continiously, with slow occassinal flashing! . Im also technically challenged, and not sure what to do, and really worried Ive lost all my data!!Regards
Michael.

Hi Michael,

Can you please connect you blackberry device to wall charger (i.e. not the USB charger) then remove and replace the battery whilst connected to power. If the device still fails we may have to attempt to reload the devices firmware. Also have you recently added any applications or attempted to update the firmware?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,
Just done this twice. No joy! ( No new applications , no attempts to do any updates at all)
It froze after I rapidly deleted all old messages(as I had a mailbox full message) and I just pressed DELETE continously. Next morning, it was frozen witha completely black screen. Not sure if that helps you??!?

Cheers
Michael.
