SMS defaults a nuisance

When I use my 8707V for SMS Iit changes certain entrys as you hit the space following the entry, eg if I type "a" it then becomes "on on"; when I type "no" it becomes "pt no pot". Figure?

If I backspace and remove the very last letter of this new series of letters then it reverts to my original entry and you can then continue on typing with a space without further default activation.

Is there a way of disabling this annoying over-ride entry?

Getting sound notification of incoming SMS

I have had a 8707V model for 12 months.

I have been through the process of entering a sound signal for Phone calls, emails and SMS. All work EXCEPT my SMS signal sound. Tried different sound signals, volumes and repeats without luck.

I would like to know when an SMS arrives but I cannot get it to activate using the User Guide instructions.

Is there anywhere it could be blocked?

Can anyone help?

Alan

It appears that you have a number of invalid entries in your AutoText configuration. You can check these entries by going to "Options > AutoText" and looking for "a" and "on" and then delete those entries.

You will need to go to "Profiles" and determine which profile is active by looking for which one has (Active) e.g. Normal (Active). Once you determine which profile is in use select that profile again and press the trackwheel and select "Edit". Once you are in the edit screen go to "Phone" and "SMS" etc and configure your desired settings. Note if you are using a genuine BlackBerry carry case you will have to set the "Out of Holster" and "In Holster" settings.
