Firmware Upgrade - Phone call enhancements

Hi,
I've got an 8700 running v.4.1.0.309 and 2.0.0.133 ...

I noticed my call list does not clearly id Missed calls, when they were missed etc -- noticed the 7300 users have this ...
do I need a firmware upgrade and if so - how? Have installed Media Manager and Desktop Manager but no mention of a BBerry SW or FW upgrade options
Also want to be able to send existing Address Book contact (usually their mobile#) via SMS (as I could with my previous Ericsson) - can I do this?

Cheers

Mark

PS Hi Garry if you read this :-)

Hi Mark,

The firmware installed on your device is the most current release provided by Telstra. The next update is due around the end of this month (March). To confirm your device is configured to display the call logs correctly follow these steps:

1. Open the phone application (i.e Press the send/answer key).
2. From the phone application press the trackwheel and select options from the menu that appears
3. Select General Options from the list
4. In General Options ensure "Phone List View" is set to "Call Log".

With regards to the sending of contacts via SMS this function is currently unavailable. Your only option is to compose an email and the press the trackwheel and select "Attach Address".

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

Do you know if Optus will also bring out a firmware update for their 8700g around the same time as Telstra?

I'm having a wireless calendar sync issue (it doesn't work!!) with BES which I don't seem to be having on the 8707 device.

Kind Regards,

David.

Currently the latest firmware for the 8700 on Optus is 4.1.0.258 with software platform 2.0.0.111.

It appears the service providers have put any 8700 updates on hold since the BlackBerry Pearl was released; also they are now focusing on the BlackBerry 8800 which is due for release shortly.

With regards to you calendar sync issue is it a two way issue or one way sync issue? (e.g. Device <> Desktop or Device > Desktop)
