SIM Card Error

Problem
The BlackBerry device displays
SIM Card Error on the Home screen in the area that normally displays the name of the service provider.
Resolution
Upgrade to BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 or later.
Workaround
Verify that the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card is inserted correctly in the BlackBerry device.
- Turn off the BlackBerry device.
- Remove the battery cover. For instructions, see the Getting Started Guide for your device model.
- Remove the battery.
- Verify that the SIM card is inserted correctly.
- Re-insert the battery.
- Slide the battery cover back onto the BlackBerry device.
