Problems with Blackberry HS-655 headset pairing with Blackberry 8707g

I have recently purchased both a Blackberry HS-655 headset and a Blackberry 8707g handset. I have been constantly losing the connection between the two devices, which requires the re-activation of both the handset and headset before the connection is restored.

This problem has occurred at random time intervals and whilst both devices are fully charged and within a close proximity of each other.

I would be grateful to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, how is it resolved.

Many thanks,

Mark Harris

Mark, could you please post back what firmware version your BlackBerry is running? This info can be found in "Options > About" on your device.

Hi Mark,

I have done a lot of research on your issue and I have discovered your issue is occurring globally. Your device is running the latest software so software updates aren't a possible solution for your issue. At this point all I can recommend is the following:

1. Delete the bluetooth pairing from your device
2. Reset your headset to factory defaults
3. Restart your Blackberry device
4. Pair your headset with the BlackBerry
5. In the bluetooth properties set the headset to Trusted.

Thanks for your help, I have another question if I may

Gary,

Many thanks for trying to assit me with this problem. I have tried another headset (Motorola HS801) with simialr results.

The problem seems to be that the handset does not receive the signal from the bluetooth headset to accept the call and open a connection between the devices.

If the incoming call is answered by pressing the call key on the handset, then the bluetooth headset can connect. However, if this is not done you need to activate the handset and the bluetooth headset separately by clicking on the activate option displayed when you click on the roller-wheel. The connection will then be re-established.

Really quite farsical!!!

From your research, has anyone identified a headset that does work properly with the 8707g?

Thanks again,

Mark Harris

Before we look for another headset I would contact your service provider and ask for a Blackberry warranty/replacement form. RIM will provide you with a new handset in advance, then you can return your faulty device. It has been common to see bluetooth issues with the 8700 and 8707 devices.

Same problem with Nokia headset

Hi, I was searching around for a headset that might be compatible with my 8700g.
My past experience with a Nokia bluetooth headset sounds the same (not sure of the model). I couldn't answer an incoming call by pushing the button on the headset, you'd have to press the green call button on the handset.

Do I need a new handset?!

When it comes to Bluetooth and Blackberry you will find Motorola devices will work the best. Nokia do a have a habit of making devices that only work well with other Nokia devices. My recommendation for BlackBerry compatible Bluetooth headsets are:

1. Blue Ant X3 Micro
2. Motorola H700
