• Bluetooth® A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)

Problem

The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphone does not route audio to a stereo Bluetooth headset. When attempting to play music or ring tone files on the BlackBerry smartphone, audio is heard through the BlackBerry smartphone or the BlackBerry smartphone speakerphone, but not through the Bluetooth headset.

Cause

When connecting to a Bluetooth headset, the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphone does not connect using the Stereo Headset and A/V Remote Control services.

Resolution

This issue has been addressed in a more recent version of the BlackBerry Device Software. Upgrade the BlackBerry smartphone to BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Release 240 (containing application version 4.2.2.123 and platform version 3.0.0.64) or later. For instructions, see KB03621.

Additional Information

To determine the BlackBerry Device Software application version, on the BlackBerry device Home screen, go to Options > About. The application version is displayed as v#.#.###.
