Media Player Full Screen

Is it possible to play a video file using the media player in a "full screen" mode?

Hi Striddel,
I have not tried this on my 8800, but on my 8310 you hit the 'application' key during playback, then select 'full screen mode'. It will stay like this with every video you play until you de-select.
(Bb OS Version 4.2.2.163)
Hope this helps.

Greg

I don't know where the application key is on the 8800. The menu key doesn't seem to have any full screen option to choose during playback.

Thanks Gary. I don't see that same option on my Application key when in playback mode. I am running Bb OS v4.2.1.68, should I update this and if the answer is yes how do I update the OS ?

i think fullscreen isnt available for 4.2.1 but it is for 4.2.2 so unfortunately rules 8800 users out.

Wirelessly posted (RIM BlackBerry Curve 8300: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/122)

The shuffle, repeat and full-screen playback modes are not supported by BlackBerry OS 4.2.1.x, as used on the BlackBerry 8800.

SHAPE Services' xPlayer on the other hand, offers a number of features over the built-in mutimedia player in BlackBerry OS 4.2.1.x:
• Shuffle, repeat and full-screen playback modes.
• A choice of two skins.
• Playlist support.

Best of all, xPlayer is COMPLETELY FREE!

You can download xPlayer OTA (over-the-air; wirelessly, without the use of a computer) by using your BlackBerry's default Internet browser to go to:
