Angry This ST$*)PID THING!!

My Blackberry 8800 is driving me crazy! Everything seems to work fine with one exception.. On it's own it "pushes the trackball in". I can be typing in my password, and all of a sudden it will act as if I pushed it in and of course "wrong password" shows up because I wasn't finished. Worse even, if I am on it and talking it will act as if I am pushing it, and mute and unmute repeatedly. I have taken it completely apart, and sprayed it thinking there might be dust somewhere. It isn't the trackball though, because I took the trackball out all the way, and it still did it. I have noticed something though. I left it plugged in as my glorified alarm clock, and after a week of that it seems to not do it as often. Could this be caused by a bad battery?? Has anyone gone through this before? Any tips?? Advice?? HELPPP!!!

Never mind. I just went back to basics. If it isn't the hardware, must be the software... I nuked away the firmware. Then I installed the firmware I downloaded (( http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/f..._installer.zip)) . I got the link from another Post. I then reinstalled the same firmware I had downloaded so I could make the desktop manager work in the first place. Only the basics at first because it failed when I chose all that I wanted.., waited .. and viola.. no glitching, I can talk, send messages. All is well. Thank you all
