'Blackberry' Requirement

Hi,

Could somebody please provide an explanation on what triggers the device prompt to enter 'blackberry'. I am starting to see instances of this even though the users 'claim' that they are entering the correct device password.

As always appreciate feedback.

Regards

Hi,

The only time you are prompted to enter blackberry is when the password has been entered incorrectly a few times. This can happen when the device is in your pocket or bag without you realizing.

Thanks,

Gary

Aren't you required to enter 'Blackberry' when you wipe a device as well?

You are correct. I didn't that area as it would be very hard to accidently get to handheld wipe. The only other thing it could be is the device may have the Alt or Caps key locked on causing the password to be incorrect.

I was thinking of a device that spontaneously wants to 'reset' itself (an obvious hardware fault.) Weren't some original Curves aka 8300 known to do that?

Thanks All - basically then it's a 'fat thumbs' reaction.

Enjoy the long weekend all
