Erase vs Scrubbing

Hi All,

I am in the middle of redeploying several 8800's due to a change in our IT Policy.

I have to wipe each handheld and then rebuild the device assigned to the new policy. This new policy removes content protection and forces a device password. A strange thing has just happened and I would appreciate an explanation if possible.

To erase the device I went into Options > Security > Option > Wipe Handheld I then entered 'Blackberry' and the device then wiped and was ready for rebuilding a few minutes later.

On a second device I carried out exactly the same steps except this device has decided to 'Scrub' and not Wipe and therefore will take a much longer time to erase the device.

Why would one wipe and the other scrub when the procedure followed was exactly the same for both devices?

Regards

It would appear that content encryption is enabled on some devices but disabled on others. Prior to wiping a device ensure content protection is disabled as changing an I.T Policy does not automatically disable it.
