Outlook 2002 Sync Issues

Hey Guys,

Quick question about syncing... We have blackberry behind a BES and using exchange however. I am having a prob with most of them in the fact that any meting changes dont usually replicate on the blackberry's, I have checked that wireless sync is on and have resent all the Severice books.

The only way i have found to fix the issue is to turn off wireless sync and then turn it back on... but that is not an acceptable way to fix the problem. I was just wondering if there are any fixes or patches that we can apply to get this problem sorted

Thankyou

Hi,

What is the exact version of BES that you are running?(e.g. 4.1.4.15) Also what is the file version of cdo.dll on the BES compared to the Exchange server?

Thanks,

Gary

Can you please try testing Outlook 2002 without cached mode? Also do you have any other user with newer version of Outlook experiencing this issue?

We only have that version of outlook on all PC's... are there any other fixed or maybe patches that i need to apply??

Also with Cached mode, Outlook is setup to continually run from the exchange server.. so i am not sure about that one

Thanks

Can you please upgrade your BlackBerry Server to Service Pack 5 as that will provide a number of fixes including the new "Force calendar Sync" option.

Installing a service pack is a very simple task that can be performed by following these steps:

1. Download BES 4.1 SP 5 using this LINK
2. Log onto the BES using the BlackBerry Service Account (e.g. BESadmin)
3. Run the SP5 installer and follow the prompts. Don't change any options as it will detect the current configuration.
4. After the first stage of the update is completed you will be prompted to restart. Once the server has rebooted log onto the BES with the BlackBerry Service Account again and the installer will automatically launch.
5. Follow the prompts without changing any settings and just continue to press Next until you are prompted to start the services. Please note that the database upgrade screen may appear to freeze but this is normal and you should leave it even if it displays "Not Responding".
