International codes for contacts

When I miss a call from a contact the info in the mised call has the wrong international code, however it IDs the caller. For example my wife is in my phone book with the full number +61402 NNN NNN, if I miss her call and press call back it fails to connect, IDs her correctly but shows the number as +10402 NNN NNN.Is there a setting in the phone to fix this or is this a problem with my provider. A bit more info - Unlocked AT&T phone on a prepaid with Optus.

Cheers, Selly...

Hi,

Can you please confirm the following settings?

1. Go to the phone application (i.e. Press the green send key)
2. Press the menu button (left of the trackball) and select Options
3. Select Smart Dialing
4. Ensure "Country Code" is set to +61, the "Area Code" should be blank and the "National Number Length" is 9
5. Exit & Save

Thanks,

Gary

Thanks Gary, perfect. I looked in the manual to no avail, sometimes you need to know what to look for or nothing jumps out at you in the index. Do you know if the guide for dummies is any good?

Hi Selly,
Try the Help menu on the device. I must say it can be very helpful at times.
