Please help! I need my vodafonelive browser back.

Hi there! I'm so glad there's a forum like this for blackberry lovers... Nwei, this is my problem.... I purchase a BB 8320 in the US with a T mobile brand and it is unlocked. The internet browser only works for blackberry and I can't seem to log into the vodafone live website. I dont have any problem logging in to vodalive! in my previous phone which is the bb 8300. I am on prepaid and I have no plans on getting into contract since I travel most of the time and I get to use my phone in any country in the world. My version that im using is OS 4.5 and there is only one browser configuration i can find and that is the hotspot browser. I only got two service books installed in my device which is WIFI TCP? browser... and Wifi TCP/IP... The guys from voda technical staff told me to put the apn address of voda which is live.vodafone.com and still doesn't work. Do i need to uninstall my current OS version and put the old OS 4.2 back. Can anyone give me an insight to what is going on with my device. I'm about to sell it on ebay if I cant get the vodalive! globe icon back or I will be back to my old nokia phone. Please help!

Hi,

Your BlackBerry device relies on your carrier to send it's configuration in the form of service books to the handset. Without these service books a BlackBerry won't be configured for WAP or Vodafone Live. As you are on Pre-Paid and you don't have a BlackBerry plan you can't automatically receive these settings. What you can do is find someone on Vodafone that has a BlackBerry plan and insert their SIM into your device which will download the service books. Let us know how you go.

Thanks,

Gary

If you go into a Vodafone store they can only resolve the issue if they have a Blackberry enabled SIM (not likely but worth a try).

By inserting a Vodafone SIM with BlackBerry service it will download the service books. This "should" allow additional services to work with your pre-paid SIM after the service books are loaded.
