BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone Telstra Firmware?

Hi, I am in need of the latest appropriate firmware for my BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone.

Hi,

Below is a link to the official Telstra release of firmware 4.5 for your device. Telstra's version is a little outdated so if you are interested in install the latest "non approved" version please post back (4.5.0.124).

Telstra BlackBerry 8800 Handheld Software v4.5.0.75 (English & Chinese)

Package Version: 4.5.0.75
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.5.0.52
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.66
  • File name: 8800EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_T elstra.exe
  • File size: 70.99MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Hey Garry,

I downloaded the firmware and when i go to run the .exe i get the error below

"error Reading setup Inistialzation file"....


my next question is there a way to upgrade the firmware from blackberry Manager... or directly from our BES sever?

Hi,

If you install BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.7 you are able set it to alert you when updates are available. If you want to control the firmware updates from the BlackBerry Manager you can install the firmware onto the BES (you need to add it via “Software Configuration”) and distribute it via Desktop Manager or Web Desktop Manager.

yeah i have installed BB desktop manager 4.7 and it scanned for updates but didn't find anything for my BB... i have firmware 4.2.101 so i know there is def. an update


Has anyone else got that error for the downloaded firmware install file? i have tried re downloading it too... and same thing happened
