I have gone to

Options >> Advanced Options >> Host Routing Table >> Register Now and recieved the email from Blacknerry Subject: Registration

"Your handset has been registered with the wireless network"

Still no icon has appeared on the phone. Any idea, updates, workarounds or answers?

Waiting patiently for this for some time now.

The two things you need to confirm are:

1. Are you on the Telstra Network?
2. Has your BES administrator set the IT Policy item "Enable WAP Config" to FALSE?

In order to use Whereis you will have to create a new or change the current IT Policy to allow WAP config.

Hes BESadmin,

Ok I have spoken to IT and their standard policy is that wap config is not allowed. I work for a bank.

Is there a way that I can temporarily disable BES from the handset, enter telstra's apn details, update the host routing table, get the software in the applications, have a play with it, and then turn the BES back on.

would this then disable the IT policies in place on the phone?

regards

The only way to access WAP from your device is to request your BES administrator to make a dupicate copy of your current secure IT Policy, then make only one change from your default and enable WAP Config. Please send me an email to admin@blackberryforums.com.au with your contact details and I can call and discuss this with you.

I downloaded Whereis Navigator a week ago and have been very disappointed with its operation. Over the EDGE network map downloading is very slow and rerouting is dreadful. If you go off the original course it take almost a minute for the new directions to be loaded to the phone, this is after the BB displays a white screen for almost ten seconds. I really hope that Sensis offer an SD-Card version of the maps or else this software will be barely usable. Also the software is very inaccurate when finding the device's location; it is often off by over 40 metres. It is certainly no match for my old Ipaq with TomTom. Has anyone else had a play with it yet? What are your thoughts?

Exclamation Brooken

Well after less than a week it is allready broken....Was using the software last night & suddently it stoped & came up withan error

After 20mins on hold with telstra i got an answer that it was broken and that they didn't know when it was going to be fixed.

Hopfully they get it fixed quickly i have found it very usefull, pity that the google one doesn't talk to you yet
