The browser settings/icons etc are included with your service books that you will require sent out to you from Vodafone. (or your selected provider).

Quoted from Gary,
"Hi,

Your BlackBerry device relies on your carrier to send it's configuration in the form of service books to the handset. Without these service books a BlackBerry won't be configured for WAP or Vodafone Live. As you are on Pre-Paid and you don't have a BlackBerry plan you can't automatically receive these settings. What you can do is find someone on Vodafone that has a BlackBerry plan and insert their SIM into your device which will download the service books. Let us know how you go.

Thanks,

Gary

Maps for Bold 9000

Hi all,
I just found & installed a new mapping software for the Bold - have a look & try www.amazegps.com, it seems to be worth a try for us in Australia.

You can also download a BES version of Amaze GPS which uses MDS so you don't get charged for data usage. You can also locate the software via your device browser by going to http://mobile.blackberry.com and selecting “Applications > Travel & Mapping”.

Hi Zaak

I have used amazegps for a few trips now and I find it very good. It recalculates pretty fast when I deliberatly do twists and turns. I stick the Blackberry in the door side pocket or my shirt pocket and just go by the voice commands.

I am on the Optus Platinum plan.
