wifi on BB8900 unlocked with optus

I bought my bb8900 on eBay and it’s a t-mobile unlocked phone and I have put my Optus prepaid sim card in and then when I try to connect to my Wi-Fi at home it keeps coming up in green letters in connections that it
is connected to bigpond3695 but instead of green tick next to it,
it has a grey line, and will not let me use the internet.

please help?

Hi,

Try going into "Options > Mobile Network" and ensuring "Data Services" is enabled and then reconnect to your Wi-Fi access point.
