Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption uses matching encryption keys at both the wireless access point and the BlackBerry smartphone enabled with Wi-Fi® technology to secure wireless communication. This key can be 40 bits (for 64-bit WEP) or 104 bits (for 128-bit WEP) in length.
