Smile Voip/Skype/iSkoot

Questions about iSkoot:

I have T-Mobile BB WiFi Curve, the MyFav 5 pkg, and email for BB only.

My objective is to use iSkoot to connect to Skype via Blackberry in a free WiFi location and not have to worry about my anytime minutes being used or adding any additional services.

1.) If I set one fav to dial out the iSkoot number will I incur any additional anytime minute costs?

2.) Does iSkoot always dial the same number or does it dial random numbers?

3.) Will I need a total internet BB plan or can I use iSkoot in a free WiFi open location without incurring any extra costs?

Thank you!

Hi,

When you install iSkoot it will set the service number based on your location. Please be aware that this number is not always a local number and many users have been charged large amounts for this service. I personally haven't tested iSkoot using WiFi but in theory it should work for Skype basic services (e.g. Messaging and seeing who is online). As mentioned be careful of what number iSkoot dials each time to make a call as it could be an expensive exercise.

Thanks,

Gary
