Are you using a personal (BIS) or corporate (BES) BlackBerry?
If it's a personal BlackBerry, can you browse to your home routers webpage?
What does the Wi-FI Diagnostics tell you?
(Manage Connections / Wi-Fi Options / Wi-Fi Tools)
Hi everybody, I am the proud owner of a BB Curve 8900 and still learning the ropes... I have currently a problem to connect my Curve to my Home WiFi; I get namely the following msg "Failed to authenticate against the network" (I checked my SSID and my PSK are correct). What's wrong ? Thanks in advance for any help, kind regards, Francis

Hi and thanks for your quick answer... My computer is in German (I am French and living in Germany...) and I AM NOT A COMPUTER GEEK !!! So please be patient with me... I tried to get the infos you needed and the only thing I can tell you is that my home WiFi works perfectly well; I am currently using it to type this message. The strange thing is that I have also an iPodTouch with the same problem. Why is my WiFi working with my laptop but not with my BB or my iPod ???
Thanks in advance and regards,
Francis
Hi,
Your WiFi may have some form of addition security (e.g. MAC Address filtering) that may be preventing the devices from connecting. Your best option is to call a Geeky friend and invite them over; as all routers are different it can be quickly resolved when checked in person.
Thanks,
Gary
Hi, thanks everybody for your advices; I will try to find a geek friend....
Kind regards,
Francis

What I had to do to get my 8900 working with my Motorola router is the following:
- Go to your router setup page on your computer.
- Find the setting where you can allow/deny service to specific MAC addresses
- Find the WLAN MAC address of your 8900(options - status)
- Add your MAC address in the area provided on the webpage, and click allow service
- Save
This worked for me, hopefully you as well.
