Pinging E mail

I have a curve 8900 and it is pinging my Telus E mail account even after I canceled it on my phone. To make matters worse both Telus and Rogers are pointing the finger at each other can anyone help solve this issue

Hi,

If your device was configured for a BIS account on Telus all they need to do is delete you old account and\or ensure your device PIN is removed from the system.

Thanks,

Gary

They keep telling me that they have deleted the account and referring me back and forth.I am a new BB user and haven't a clue as to what and where to find most info. As my son tells me I'm a Tekno dinosaur. Any help and or direction would be appreciated

How do you know your device is still pinging the Telus email account on your phone?

I assume you are referring to RIM emails (commonly containing ETP etc) that are sent to your inbox. These emails are caused by Desktop Manager being installed incorrectly so if you uninstall it and reboot your PC the emails should stop arriving. Can you please confirm this and then post back?

I checked and Desktop manager was deleted from my laptop some time ago and you are right it is RIM e mails. So as it stands I still have about 50 server pings this morning

If Desktop Manager was removed from your PC and you are still getting the emails it will be caused by your device's service books. On your device go into "Options > Advanced Options > Service Book" and delete any entries that start with "Desktop” (e.g. "Desktop [CMIME]"). Once this has been completed log onto your BIS account and from the Help menu select Resend Service Books.

I had one desktop to delete in the Options but as for the BIS I have no clue as to were to look for it. I realize this might be wearing a little thin but if you could continue to direct me it would be most appreciated

To access your BIS client log onto http://rogers.blackberry.com/ via your Desktop PC. If you don't know your account credentials contact Rogers and they can provide you with details.
