Bold tethered modem

Anyone got this working via BT or USB cable? If so, anything out of the norm? I can't get it to work, despite having it previously with the 8310...

Hi,

The first thing you need to ensure its that you have installed the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager (Dektop Manager 4.6 (B015) ). Once installed please refer to the link below:

BlackBerry device as a tethered modem

Thanks,

Quick question on this topic...
at the optusworld store today, I was told that to use my Bold as a tethered modem, I'd have to get an internet bolt-on on my plan, even though I am on the $79 Blackberry cap that gives me unlimited data through the blackberry internet portal (sorry if my techno words arent correct!).
if my bold as a modem, wouldnt it go through that?

For tethering, you are required to have a bolt-on data plan. (The unlimited plan is just for the device itself. Doesn't matter how hard you try, you still can't download on your Bold anything near the type of data volumes you can on a laptop or desktop)
