    Updating firmware on Bold 9000

    I downloaded the following Package Version: 4.6.0.292

    * Applications: 4.6.0.162
    * Software Platform: 4.0.0.155
    * File name: 9000jEastAsia_PBr4.6.0_rel292_PL4.0.0.155_A4.6.0.1 62_CSL.exe
    * File size: 94.73MB

    Current firmware on my Bold : v4.6.0.126 (Platform 4.0.0.135)
    What i have done:
    1. Backed up data on Desktop Manager (4.6.0.12) under Back up/restore option
    2. Backed up my 3rd party applications.
    3. Disconnected my BB from Desktop Manager
    4. Download desired OS to PC
    5. Installed and ran new OS.
    6. Deleted vendor.xml file.
    7. Connected BB to Desktop Manager and it does not prompt the upgrade. I clicked application loader and hit 'start'. It reads the application configuration and then searches for available device software. In the device application selection screen, only 7 applications are listed and they are all ticked. Should i not be seeing a longer option list (languages, browsers and the specific firmware version number)?
    I have downloaded other similar firmware, deleted desktop manager and reinstalled it all to no avail. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    If you are using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.6 you will have to select the "Advanced" within Application loader once the firmware updates are listed. From this screen you can also see the exact build version of each item you are installing.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    If you are loading another carrier’s firmware (or beta firmware) after deleting the vendor.xml file you also need to disconnect from the internet.
