New Official Release OS .185

New OS for the Bold from TIM Italy.

Official release of .185
This is for an Italian carrier but it is a multi lingual release so once the vendor.xml file is removed it can be installed to any Bold device.

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...190CAAD5802983

Steps to install:

1. Click the above link and navigate to the download link to download the file

2. Run the file and install it to your pc

3. Locate and delete the vendor.xml file here:
c:>> program files >> common files >> research in motion >> apploader

4. Connect your handheld to your pc and open desktop manager

5. Follow the prompts to update and allow about 30 - 45 minutes for the process to complete itself.

Enjoy

Already have .190 onstalled on my Bold but most users do not wish to use a beta (testing) firmware.
There are currently a few glitches found on .190 that are not present in .185 while all the benefits of .190 are still received.
With .190 your picture menu on your device memory will not load thumbnails. Also .190 will not allow windows live search to work (so far the only app glitch i've found with .190)

.185 is definitely the more stable and comprehensive build of the two offering the exact same benefits without the glitches

The .185 upgrades over the previously latest official release of .167 are:

- Greater available app memory, mine jumped up to 61mb on hard restart and leaked down to about 51mb and sitting stable at that now after 3 days.
- Battery life further improved, have only managed to dent a quarter battery over the duration of an entire day of use on the new one
- Absolutely massive browser speed difference. You will noticea huge increase in browser speed
- Better and more stable 3g signal strength and holding.

So will that work for Vodafone equally...or is there something special about the software as tested to work on the various networks and released under the Blackberry site for that particular network?

Cheers
