Some songs not getting listed on media player after transferring

Hi everyone,

I got a Bold on firmware 247. I just bought a 16gb storage card and had few attempts to load up 2100 songs which are about 10gb in total. The problem is after loading the songs via media sync or by just drag dropping using windows not all songs get accounted on the 'All Songs' list of media player. But if I explore the memory card though the phone or even via usb I can see all the songs are present.

So far I have tried removing the battery several times to see if it is able to scan the whole list but no luck only scans 1297 songs everytime. But any number of songs less than 1297 gets scanned. The scan is about 2 minutes if files are transferred using windows drag drop but if media sync is used it takes about 5-10min to scan everytime but results are same.

Has anybody experienced this issue?

I had a similar issue with my Blackberry Storm and it was only resolved when I changed my firmware. I believe this is just a bug in certain firmware releases so if you know anyone else with a Blackberry Bold test you media card in their device.

Even my guess is firmware. I tried it on firmwares 216 and 247 so far..I don't mind downgrading something in between if I have a chance of getting the scan fixed. I will try to find someone with a bold so far don't know one closeby. Funny thing is if I do the sync with media sync via itunes the same thing happens but I get couple of hundred more songs scanned instead of just 1297..once I managed to get 1800. And when you do with media sync it transfers a playlist called music which surprisingly gets all the 2100 songs read. But I wish to get it fixed one day so its easier to just go to all songs accessed easily instead of playlists. Thanks for the update will let u know if I get around it.
