Bold as a wifi Access Point ?

    Hi all,

I've been successful at connecting my pc to the bold via bluetooth, and using it as a modem.

I want to know if it is possible to setup my bold as a wifi access point.
How can I do this ?

    Hi,

At this stage a BlackBerry device that is WiFi enabled can only be used as a client and not as an access point.

    Thanks,

    Gary

How did you connect to your pc and use as a modem? Please share your wisdom on this.

Update: On new devices that are upgradable to OS 7.1 you now have a "Hotspot" option.

    Hi,

Just install BlackBerry Desktop Manager > Connect your device and open Desktop Manager > Select the "Mobile Internet" option in the bottom left > Follow the prompts to setup your internet connection. Please note that modem usage is not included in your BlackBerry data plan.

    Thanks,

    Gary
