    Angry no ring tone anymore

Any1 had the issue where the ringtone doesn't work anymore????
No matter which ringtone setting or which actual ringtone it just doesn't sound/play a ringtone when I get a call or message......although it does vibrate.

I hope I'm not missing anything - re handset setup

So does sound work on it at all?
    (can you play music/etc?)

If so, under Profile->Advanced->Normal (or whatever profile you've using) -> phone
    is
    - Out of Holster & In Holster is set to Vibrate & Tone (or just Tone)?
    - Volume = a number (not Mute)

If Tone (or Vibrate & tone) is selected & you click to change the Ring Tone, it should play a sample of the new ringtone.

Yeah, I checked all that. Its set to vibrate+tone, set volume to high for both in holster and out.

Strange thing is that I can play music out of the handset speaker!!!!!

    are you syncing media?

    what im getting at:

computer media is set to win during sync

    device media gets wiped
computer media gets loaded onto device

during this the setting for the ringtone gets deleted therefore the sound profile setting will be like "i dno where that damn ringtone has gone?!" and play nothing.

if its not that, try a cold boot (battery pull for 30 seconds and turn it back on)

if not that, firmware update? unless someone else has a better opinion

All media including the supplied ring tones play through the speaker - so I have no sync issue (only really sync contacts, meetings etc). Tunes/ringtones wont play when I receive a call though....

    Tried a cold boot - didn't work

Firmware - should I only use a vodafone release????

Thinking about taking it back to vodafone to check out.... Maybe put it in for repaire and be without it for afew weeks

    Hi,
FYI: You will not void any warranty by installing non vendor firmware.

    Hi,

Please make user you switch to a different profile (e.g. Load) and then restart the device by removing the battery.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
The difference between holstered or not is a factory (and most specific built aftermarket) holsters have a small magnet that the device registers when it is inserted. You can change your profiles to suit your needs whether the device in holstered or not. (You also have security locks that will lock the device each time it is holstered, or answer calls, switch off the backlight etc. There are even some 3rd party applications that disable wireless when holstered)
    Hope this helps,
    Kind Regards,
    Greg Myers
