I've been running this for 2 days now and all I can say is that it's absolutely great. Boot up is around 90 secs. OS is smooth and fast, then again, when has the Bold ever been slow. All my 3rd party apps work except quickpull. All IM's work. Picture viewing has trackball scrolling now, too. No more going back in order to view the next picture. Battery life is excellent. Yesterday was a particularly busy BB day for me ie a couple of hundred emails and messages, lots of web browsing, twitter and even took about 20 photos, not to mention at least an hr of phone calls. It came off the charger at 6am and at 10pm I still had 55% battery life remaining.I can honestly say I'm 99% satisfied.

Thanks for the feedback.
From all accounts so far, this is the most stable 5.0+ firmware version that has been released to date. RIM is close to a v5.0 official release so don't be surprised if this isn't the release version.

Installed on my BES based bold and all is good with the exception of an error message after a battery pull.

All 3rd party apps working but im missing the email setup icon that i use to use to set up my private email accounts like Yahoo etc.

I like the "Files" icon that lists all your files without going in via Media or using a file manager. Also like the threaded SMS.

Not sure if i like the new way some of the menus look but im sure they will grow on me with time.

Ive updated, all seems good, but I cant find media icon, I can only find the seperate icons for music, video and photos, I liked the media icon because I could have it on my home page, weird. I wonder where its gone.

When I go into photos, and click the BB button and go to media home, it just drops out the the main menu. Weird

Cheers

Azz

Hi,
When you install, check the Media application is checked in the box for it to install. (You can load it via Application Loader on Desktop Manager)

I cannot find any such option in the update section, all the core components etc are there, but cannot find no mention of any media application, do you have any ideas where it may be?

Cheers

Hi Greg,

I loaded the latest FW to my Bold and have found 2 issues so far.

1. the Voice Dialling application does nothing? Has anyone seen that? I use voice dialing all of the time so I would like to fix that.

2. when I reactivated with my BES...looking at the activation screen it said BIS...email transfer seems to be working. Is there anyway to confirm that the device is connected to the BES?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Nat

I found a new f/w version on the internet ... 5.0.0.314 ... loaded that this morning, and my voice dialling is back.

Although, it not working real well...maybe because it doesnt seem to understand me?? Is there a localisation file?

The new version (.314) is fairly stable at this stage. Will let you know how it goes in day to day use.
Kind Regards,
