Probably a stupid question.
Will the Storm work on Telstra's NextG network (assuming you can unlock it first)?
I.e. will it work at the same 3G speeds as the bold on the telstra network?
No, it's not NextG compatible. you'll be able to use GSM/GPRS & 3g on the old 2100Mhz range (in captial/major cities- "3Telstra" network). Althought it does say it supports 850Mhz, it's not NextG compatible.
Note it doesn't support the 900Mhz range used by Vodafone/Optus for their newer 3G network.
Hey Guys,
I too thought long and hard about taking the plunge, eventually decided to take the chance. Having not played with the device myself it was somewhat of a risk. Having spent alot of time reading reviews and listening to the miriad of complaints on crackberry has got me a little nervous.
A new software update is out today which is sposed to iron out a few of the lag issues, so hopefully that will help.
It was the Storm or the Bold for me.
Should get it thursday or friday will let you know my first impressions.
