Radio with manual tuning??

Hey guys,

I've been looking to download a radio application that allows me to manually tune in the station.. Has anyone stumbled across one? Reason being, I goto a gym that has multiple T.V. sets that you can tune your radio in and get sound (e.g. 88.6). I have tried a couple of the 'internet radio' sites but as you know they only have preset stations.

Thanks for your ideas..

Essy

Hi,

In order to access such a station on your device you would need to have a FM receiver built-in to your device. At this stage no BlackBerry device has a FM receiver and current radio applications use streaming media.

Thanks,

Gary

I honestly never use streaming radio applications but hopefully another member may be able to assist.

There is a free radio streaming application available through the BlackBerry AppWorld called Nobex Radio Companion. You will need to download the AppWorld application first. You can get it from here; appworld.blackberry.com .
Let us know how you go.
Kind Regards,
Greg Myers

I read the other day that the "appworld" was not available in Australia, and that they can filter your IP to stop you from accessing the download

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Thanks

The older version was allowing access but in the interest of the reading public, I updated. Not a smart move as can now confirm what was written by essy670. Blocked on IP from Au. You wont even be able to download the load app. (I should have stuck to the old version as no area enable was in place). Doh.
BTW; It looked bloody great...

I have been downloading the free applications from the Blackberry App World on my BlackBerry Bold (I downloaded it a hour after it was released). I just tried to download it now on my Storm and it says "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support the BlackBerry App World". So it does appear they have now blocked access to Australian users.
