Built-in media and media card storage are not available....

I will treat this as a different issue to my other one guys.

I have a 8GB SD card that I used in my Bold. I open Device Manager and sync and backup works fine now.

However, when I go to Blackberry Desktop Sofware it says Media Services are no available. You have to turn on Mass Storage. I have a tick next to Media Card support. When I left click and choose Enable USB Mass Storage I get the following message: "built-in media and media card storage are not available because mass storage mode is currently in use"

I have taken out battery and rebooted. Any thoughts guys?

    Hi,

Before you go into Options > Memory disconnect your device from the PC and you will be able to change the "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode .." setting.

    Thanks,

    Gary

I assume you mean Options/Device/Storage? If I go to the phone before I connect to the laptop I don't have that option when I left click. Only Format, Repair and Safely remove Media Card. If I connect I have that "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode .." option but then get the error.

Worse still....I just connected the phone to my PC which doesn't have any issues and it recognises the SD card no problems.....sigh....

Case solved. I may not be too smart but I am bloody persistent!!

I had done the uninstall before but I had not removed the virtual ports (leftovers from V5??)!! Uninstalled Blackberry Smartphone and Virtual RIM Ports. Did a scan for Hardware changes and File Manager and Desktop Manager can now see the Media Card!!! :-)
