5th May 2009

Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009 - Bayalink Solutions Corp., a leading innovator in smartphone application virtualization and a member of the BlackBerry® Alliance Program, announces today the general availability of Bayalink Liberty™ v1.7. Liberty, a virtualization solution for BlackBerry® smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM) is a combination of sophisticated software and standard hardware technologies that provide the user with a virtualized presentation of select BlackBerry smartphone applications on larger display devices such as laptops and workstations.

Continuing aggressively down its product roadmap, Liberty v1.7 brings many new exciting features and enhancements including:
  • Support for the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900
  • Support for Desktop Virtualization (RDP and Citrix Web Client)
  • Support for a software only version connected via USB Cable
  • Virtual File System allowing secure access to files stored locally on a BlackBerry smartphone as well as enterprise files systems
  • Support for the German language
"These exciting new features are a collaborative effort between Bayalink and our Fortune 100 early adopters. Tested for both Citrix and RDP, Liberty brings the datacenter and the mobile world together, solving a challenge for large organizations. Most virtualization solutions end when the LAN is disconnected. Liberty extends these solutions to the WWAN space. Our customers have been excited to see the Liberty ‘desktop like’ experience available on the BlackBerry platform coupled with their familiar virtual desktop infrastructure," said Trevor Dietrich, Co-Founder and Vice-President of Bayalink.

Bayalink Announces an Enterprise Hotelling and Kiosk Solution for Liberty
6th May 2009
www.rim.com

Orlando, FL – Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009 - Bayalink Solutions Corp., a leading innovator in smartphone application virtualization and a member of the BlackBerry® Alliance Program, announces today the launch of an enterprise Hotelling and Kiosk program for Liberty.

With a fundamental shift in the enterprise towards ultra thin desktops and endpoint independence, Bayalink has pioneered a technology, which operates on BlackBerry® smartphones, that brings both these elements to the market. The Hotelling and Kiosk solution consists of an ultra-thin ‘sacrificial’ endpoint, the Liberty key and the user’s BlackBerry smartphone. The endpoint also has sophisticated technology that ensures any residual data from a user session is erased. This protects the enterprise and the user in the situation where data is accidentally or unknowingly left behind.

"This solution allows the enterprise to get out of the corporately managed laptop and desktop space for their transient workforce. From the user perspective while travelling, simply find a Liberty ReadyTM Hotelling Cubicle or Kiosk and plug in with Liberty to get your work done on a large screen and keyboard. Given the choice, most travellers would choose to not carry a laptop," said Trevor Dietrich, Co-Founder and Vice-President of Bayalink.
