Menu changes and naming
Although some layout changes have been applied to BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 and 4.2, the functionality of all the previous components of BlackBerry Desktop Manager remain the same. The enhancements made to BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 and 4.2 are described in the following table.
Application Loader
By default, the
Include applications that are installed on the connected device only check box is selected. This allows the BlackBerry smartphone user to install BlackBerry® Device Software while making sure that wirelessly installed applications remain on the BlackBerry smartphone when the BlackBerry Device Software is re-installed.
Backup and Restore
The Backup and Restore function has been updated to account for data stored on the media card, and the Advanced Backup and Restore window now includes a list of available and read-only databases.
Email Settings
This application was formerly known as Redirector Settings. The Advanced tab in this application contains a Message delivery status section. Clicking the
Status button opens the BlackBerry® Desktop Redirector.
Synchronize
This application was formerly know as Intellisync®. The functions originally contained in a single window have been separated into two tabs. The two tabs are
Synchronize and
Configuration.
