BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 for Exchange - Service Pack 4a

BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 - Service Pack 4a

BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 Service Pack 4a for Microsoft Exchange addresses a possible issue relating to start-up and the connection to SQL 2005 Express as well as incremental bug-fixes relative to BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 Service Pack 4 for Microsoft Exchange. If you have already downloaded and successfully installed BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 Service Pack 4, it is still recommended that you download and install BlackBerry Professional Software v4.1 Service Pack 4a as it will correct this potential connection issue with SQL Express 2005 whenever you restart the system. For more information on this issue addressed in Service Pack 4a, see the Service Pack 4a Release Notes.

BB Professional 4.1 SP4A on 64 bit box

Can BlackBerry Professional Software for Microsoft Exchange Version 4.1 SP4A be installed on a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 SP2 and Exchange 2007 SP1?

Is SP5 available for BB Professional yet?

You shouldn’t install BES on you Exchange 2007 server as it will change IIS to 32 mode causing OWA to fail. It is recommended to install BES on a separate server to Exchange in your environment, you just need “Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1” installed on the BES to provide the MAPI and CDO connectivity back to your mail server (Just follow this GUIDE up until step 8). Also SP5 currently isn't available for BlackBerry Professional.

You can only use a terminal server if it isn't running in Application Mode. You could consider installing the free version of VMware on the terminal server and running a new server for the BES, this would allow you to also move the image to other hardware when it becomes available (VMware will need to be configured with 1 core and 1GB to allow Windows server and BES to run efficiently).

Hi,

Sorry I am unable to provide a FTP download link for the BlackBerry Professional software. I need to refer you to your network service provider as if they offer Blackberry services they will be able to provide you with the software.

Thanks,

Gary
