Unable to send email messages using the Nokia 9300

Doc ID : KB11466
Last Modified : 2007-06-22
Document Type : Support

Environment
  • Nokia® 9300 with BlackBerry® Connect™
  • BlackBerry® Internet Service 1.8 and 2.x
Note: To determine which version of the BlackBerry Internet Service you are using, see KB04989.

Problem

The BlackBerry enabled device user is unable to send new email messages or reply to received email messages using the Nokia 9300 device running BlackBerry Connect software.

Cause

The service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service is missing or corrupt.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, remove the existing service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service (if present) and resend it.

Note: The service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service will be listed as WebClient[CMIME] for the BlackBerry Internet Service 1.8, and <integrated email account>[CMIME] for the BlackBerry Internet Service 2.x.

To remove the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service, complete the following steps:
  1. From the Home screen, select Tools.
  2. Select the Control Panel.
  3. Choose Messaging.
  4. Select BlackBerry.
  5. Select the Service info tab.
  6. Highlight Service book records.
  7. Press the Change command button.
  8. Highlight the desired service book and press the OK command button.
  9. Press the View record command button.
  10. Select Delete record.
Once this has been completed, resend the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service. For instructions, see KB02830.
