Can I sync the E61i over WiFi?

I see that it is possible to sync the 8820 to a BES over WiFi. Is this possible using BB Connect on the Nokia E61i?

I have very poor cell coverage at work. It would be great if BBC could auto-detect the better connection as the 8820 seems to do.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about access points inside the enterprise network.

The E61 isn't the most ideal device when it comes to Blackberry as it is limited in its ability due to BlackBerry Connect. If you purchase an 8120 or 8320 it will be easy to setup WiFi sync whilst you are in the office.

Point taken.

The reason we're trying the E61i is because it has (shhhhhhh) a SIP client - again because of the poor cell coverage. I want to connect to our local IP PBX but still have BES functionality.

All I've ever heard about a SIP client on the 8xxx is rumors. We're stuck with AT&T and they don't even offer the E61i - probably because of the SIP client.

Hi,

I've done some research and it appears BlackBerry Connect clients will have issues connecting to BES via Wi-Fi. The reason I was given was these settings are controlled/configured via I.T Policy on the BES and BlackBerry connect doesn't support these settings. I haven't been unable to confirm if newer V4 BlackBerry Connect clients are compatible but please let us know if you find out any further info.
